The first Monet painting I was introduced to was Irises in Monet’s Garden, and it was love at first sight with not only the painting, but also Impressionism.
When I originally bought this sheath dress and paisley top, I was set on pairing them with tall olive green boots. While I did manage to find a few options with potential, none of them really sold me on being the perfect pair for this outfit. A week later, as I was walking by the Louis Vuitton store, I saw this bag beckoning to me. Before making the purchase, I had to ask myself how well it would fit in with the rest of my wardrobe. Almost immediately, I recalled the colors of this paisley top, and figured out how to finish styling this outfit. Since I usually wear darker colors in the winter, I find this pastel outfit to be quite refreshing.
Since the bag features Monet’s Water Lilies, I knew the Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) would make for the perfect backdrop. To my pleasant surprise, the DIA is hosting a Monet exhibition until March 4th, 2018. The exhibition is called Monet: Framing Life. The exhibition is quite intimate and unique. It revolves around Monet’s Rounded Flower Bed. I highly recommend checking it out if you have the chance.
