As colder, gloomy weather sets in, books are my welcome reprieve…
John K. King Used & Rare Books has a collection of more than one millions books, sprawling four stories. It is one of America’s largest bookstores, in fact, according to Thrillist, it is the fourth largest in the world. It is located on West Lafayette in downtown Detroit. Upon entering the store, we were given a map indicating the layout of the store by genre. The highlight for me was finding their extensive collection of National Geographic magazines, dating all the way back to the 1920s! If you love books, or are interested in finding rare books, I highly recommend spending some time here. Chances are, you will find what you are looking for.
For my outfit, I went with an eclectic, vintage “bookworm chic” kind of vibe in matching camel blazer and trousers. The tulle skirt is actually a belt that comes with the pants, and one of my favorite outfit details this season! I wore a denim shirt for a more casual look. The pants and blazer also look great separately. For an earlier shoot, I wore the trousers with a black leather shirt.
