Adventures of the urban kind
Highlights:
Vancouver is only and hour and a half away from Whistler, yet it is drastically different from it. For starters, when it snows it Whistler, it rains in Vancouver. The drive between the two places was extremely scenic, especially with the rolling streams of mist. Vancouver has a wide variety of places to see, things to do and eat. Vancouver is comprised neighborhoods including the three I visited: Yaletown, Gastown, and Chinatown. Each neighborhood boosts an impressive selection of restaurants, bars, and shops. I particularly enjoyed the steam clock in Gastown (second to last picture). The Vancouver Seawall in Stanley Park provides the perfect pathway for a leisurely stroll while enjoying stunning views of the water, mountains, and Lions Gate Bridge.
Travel Tips:
Vancouver is an extremely clean and impressive city. In terms of food, Vancouver offers so many options! I would recommend Chambar for Belgian inspired brunch. The breakfast paella was simply both filling and delicious. Zeitoon offers authentic Persian dishes. My favorites were the boneless chicken and the rice. Gringo in Blood Alley served up incredibly fresh and bold tacos. The fried chicken at Juke is perfect for either dinner or late night snack. Vancouver is the perfect city for restaurant hopping.
